The Opportunity 

The Senior Director, NA Commercial Finance is a senior enterprise leader responsible for driving commercial insight, financial strategy, and performance management across the US and Canada organization. The role partners closely with the Executive Team and business leaders to shape strategic decision-making, optimize profitability, and enable sustainable growth.

The role drives organization-wide commercial analytics and outcomes, leads finance teams, and ensures financial rigor, insight, and foresight are embedded within strategic and operational decisions.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Commercial Strategy & Decision Support

  • Act as a strategic commercial partner to senior commercial and marketing executives, providing actionable insights on growth, pricing, investment, and cost optimization
  • Translate business strategy into robust financial plans, forecasting, and scenario modelling
  • Lead the implementation of the Revenue Growth agenda, ensuring clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.

Financial Performance & Planning

  • Lead enterprise-level budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Own financial performance tracking, including vol/price/mix analysis, trade spend, ROI, channel inventory and value creation metrics
  • Standardize and enhance reporting tools, processes, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and alignment between corporate and commercial finance.

Business Partnering & Influence

  • Partner with the SVP Sales, VP Marketing, Global RGM and senior leaders to shape multi‑year sales plans, assess profitability, and guide investment decisions.
  • Strengthen partnerships between commercial finance, sales, marketing and corporate finance teams. Ensuring clarity of roles, effective communication, and aligned performance management.

Leadership & Capability Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing commercial finance team strengthening capabilities, elevating leadership skills, and driving consistent ways of working across the function.
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
  • Build future-fit finance capabilities aligned to evolving business needs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related graduate degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in pharma, consumer packaged goods or consulting, with deep expertise in commercial finance.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Proven success leading and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Experience operating in fast‑paced, matrixed environments with multiple priorities and complex business dynamics.
  • Exposure to major transformation, M&A, or digital initiatives preferred
