The Opportunity 

Dechra is a global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture and sales of high-quality products to improve animal welfare, exclusively for veterinarians worldwide.

Through Dechra International we market and sell Dechra’s products in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and South Korea through our own legal entities and via distributors to countries worldwide (including Eastern Europe).

To professionally sell, manage, support sales and develop the business potential of the Dechra range of products within a defined region to distributors and veterinarians ensuring Dechra and its brands optimise their market opportunity.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Ensure the region consistently achieves sales targets.
  • Effectively negotiate contracts with customers ensuring the involvement of Group Legal with standard Group templates to be used, escalating to senior management team when necessary.
  • Ensure your customers forecast, order and pay according to agreed processes and timelines.
  • Ensure effective regional planning and prioritise sales activities and customer contact towards achieving agreed business and sales targets.
  • Manage business appointments and travel to maximise productivity in line with budgeted expectations and in line with Group ESG requirements.
  • Plan and manage region, product mix and customer service, in line with defined customer expectations and in line with the International development strategy.
  • Deliver campaign and service messages and follow up on all customer requirements.
  • Maintain and develop customers through appropriate business solutions and ethical sales methods.
  • Use customer CRM system to track and monitor customer contacts, and ensure all relevant information changes are updated.
  • Respond to, and follow up on, sales enquiries using all appropriate methods in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities as required.
  • Use of Dechra branding material to reflect ‘The Veterinary Perspective’ to be used in all communications.
  • Attend and present at all customer meetings, congress and events and internal Dechra business meetings as required.
  • Ensure open, honest and accurate communication with internal stakeholders, and Group teams.
  • Attend training programmes to ensure continuous professional development and ensure skills and techniques are continually developing.
  • Ensure personal adherence to health and safety requirements and all requirements relating to care of equipment provided e.g. laptop, projector, screen, printer, mobile phone, car and any other property that you are issued for personal use.
