Manager, Technical Training - Sales Effectiveness

The Opportunity 

The Manager, Technical Training – Sales Effectiveness is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering technical training programs that enable sales associates to effectively communicate product value and clinical relevance. 

This role operates within the Sales Force Effectiveness team and works in close partnership with Sales Training to ensure technical knowledge is translated into practical, field-ready capabilities. The position plays a key role in aligning technical education with commercial priorities to enhance overall sales effectiveness and field performance. 

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Technical Training for Sales Enablement 

  • Design and deliver technical training programs for sales associates, aligned to business strategy and field needs 
  • Translate complex clinical and product information into clear, concise, and actionable selling messages 
  • Ensure training content supports real-world application in customer interactions 
  • Continuously update technical training materials to reflect product, market, and competitive changes 

Collaboration with Sales Training 

  • Partner closely with Sales Training to create a seamless integration of technical knowledge and selling skills 
  • Co-develop training curricula for new hires and tenured sales professionals (Live training presentations, Delta programs, etc.) 
  • Align on training priorities, key messaging, rollout timing 
  • Support reinforcement and coaching efforts in the field 

Curriculum Development & Delivery 

  • Develop and maintain technical learning content across onboarding and ongoing development programs 
  • Collaborate with digital learning teams to deliver scalable, accessible training solutions 
  • Support virtual and live training sessions, including workshops and webinars 
  • Maintain and evolve training programs based on business needs 

Field Enablement & Support 

  • Provide technical expertise to sales teams to build confidence in product and clinical discussions 
  • Participate in field engagements and training sessions to assess effectiveness and identify gaps 
  • Support product launches and strategic initiatives with targeted technical training 

Training Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement 

  • Monitor training effectiveness and adjust programs based on feedback and performance indicators 
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to ensure training aligns with field expectations and priorities 
  • Drive continuous improvement in training approach and delivery 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with Medical, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure all technical and clinical training content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with medical strategy 
  • Ensure all materials are reviewed and approved through the Legal, Medical, and Regulatory (LMR) process prior to field deployment 
  • Support national meetings, webinars, and training events

The Ideal Candidate

  • DVM/VMD (or equivalent clinical background)  
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical or relevant industry experience  
  • Active veterinary license in good standing (if applicable) 
  • Ability to translate technical/clinical knowledge into practical sales application  
  • Strong communication and presentation skills  
  • Experience working with or supporting sales teams  

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority  

  • Strong organizational and project management skills  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.) 

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
