The Opportunity
The Global Portfolio Expansion Lead will support the company’s worldwide efforts to strategically advance the Dechra portfolio through lifecycle management and geographical expansion of the existing product portfolio.
The role will work cross-functionally with R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Regional Business Units and Financial Modelling & Evaluation to assess and execute geo-expansion opportunities.
The role requires deep expertise in the animal health industry, including companion animal, equine, and emerging technology segments, as well as the ability to navigate global markets and regulatory environments.
**This role can be based remotely in the US or UK**
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- Portfolio Expansion Strategy
- Develop and implement a global portfolio expansion strategy aligned with corporate growth priorities.
- Identify white-space opportunities across species, therapeutic areas, and geographic markets.
- Maintain a pipeline roadmap supporting revenue growth and lifecycle management.
- Pursue an active learning and networking approach to maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and unmet needs within key category areas.
Cross Functional Execution
- Lead the assessment of Global expansion opportunities.
- Collaborate with R&D on scientific validation and development feasibility, Regulatory on approval pathways, Commercial teams on market attractiveness and launch potential and Manufacturing on scalability and supply considerations.
- Partner with Financial Evaluation & Modelling and other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate ROI/NPV calculations and appropriate risk analysis.
- Work closely Alliance Management and Integration and the wider GMTE team to ensure successful launch planning, execution and value realization.
Governance & Portfolio Prioritization
- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to prioritize portfolio expansion opportunities based on strategic fit and growth potential, including enhancement of key category areas to drive highest sustainable value.
- Support internal portfolio review processes and stage gate decisions.
- Implement SKU rationalization and support divestitures.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to ensure enterprise thinking, by facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including PDRA, commercial, finance, and senior leadership, to align business development initiatives with corporate priorities.
- Maximize outside in thinking by representing the company at industry conferences, partnering events.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field.
- Prior experience in Animal Health, Pharmaceutical Portfolio Strategy or life cycle management.
- Deep understanding of the global animal health market including key therapeutic areas and regulatory frameworks and global commercial dynamics
- Vast global experience in portfolio and life cycle management strategy within animal health, pharmaceuticals or life sciences,
- Experience in digital health, or innovative go-to-market models.
- Knowledge of key markets, including Europe, North America, LATAM, and Asia-Pacific.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong background in product lifecycle management and go-to-market strategy.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and working in a global/matrix environment.
- Ability to travel as required.
