The Opportunity 

The overall role is to provide high level operational and administrative support to the Biotherapeutics Innovation Department of Dechra Research and Development leadership team to ensure smooth business operations and R&D activities.  In addition, the role will provide administrative support to the Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) of Dechra Research and Development.  

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Manage day-to-day operational and administrative tasks including but not limited to office communications, project support, contracts management, regular meeting/discussion coordination so that project and corporate objectives are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered to schedule and budget.
  • Provides general administrative duties, supports coordination of special events and activities as requested, assists in coordination/ facilitation of interviews with prospective candidates and office visits. 
  • Work with the CEO, CSO, CDO and other executive team members to manage all operational aspects of the organization 
  • Manage communications and support collaborations with external partners 
  • Organize/coordinate logistics for all team meetings (virtual and F2F): reserving meeting space, meals, researching hotel options and potential hotel room blocks, prepare agendas, record minutes and follow-up action plans and collaborative decision making 
  • Document management/coordinate within Dechra’s existing document management system 
  • Liaise with legal counsel to ensure timely review and approval of service agreements with external partners, and other legal documents to be sent for signatures 
  • Assists with new vendor onboarding process (Vendor intake forms and TPRM process) 
  • As theAWC’s administrative assistant, responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring the AWC email daily for submission,questions and/or notifications of upcoming reviews
  • Track review groups and schedule for review
  • Receive and process protocols for distribution to AWC members. 
  • Track and collate responses as required to and from AWC members and the submitter
  • Schedule and organize semi-annual meetings (other ad hoc meeting as required) including preparing agenda, document minutes and drafting the Semi Annual Report.
