The Opportunity

Dechra is an international specialist veterinary pharmaceuticals products business. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture, and sales and marketing of high-quality products exclusively for veterinarians worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to establish and lead our QC laboratory as we transition to 100% in-house analytical testing over the next 12 months.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for building a scalable, compliant, and high-performing QC function that supports operational growth, ensures timely batch release, and strengthens our regulatory readiness.

As the QC Manager, you will take full ownership of laboratory operations, providing technical leadership, daily oversight, and governance of all QC activities. You will play a key role in removing current bottlenecks, enabling proper QA/QC separation, and ensuring the lab is ready for increased testing volumes and complexity.

Main Responsibilities

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Lead and develop the QC laboratory team, providing daily supervision and technical direction

  • Manage laboratory workflows, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure timely test results

  • Oversee method transfers, validations, stability programs, and routine testing

  • Ensure strong data integrity, GMP compliance, and laboratory governance

  • Review and approve analytical data, investigations (OOS/OOT), and reports

  • Drive timely resolution of deviations, CAPAs, and laboratory investigations

  • Support batch release by ensuring efficient QC turnaround times

  • Lead the transition from external to fully insourced testing

  • Partner cross-functionally to support production, supply, and new product introduction

  • Strong decision-making, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
