The Opportunity 

Responsible for the management, governance, development, implementation and continuous improvement of Dechra's global Quality Management System (QMS) and Document Management System (DMS), Veeva Vault QualitySuite. .   The role acts as the Business System Owner for Veeva Quality, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational needs. The position drives user adoption, system optimisation, data integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement across Quality, DMS, and DRD functions. The role leads a team of QMS Associates and Specialists while collaborating with IT, external vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions that support Dechra's global growth strategy.


Role Responsibility 


Strategic Leadership 

• Manage the Head of QMS’ strategic vision for Dechra's Veeva Vault Quality. 

• Ensure the system supports the broader business objectives, regulatory compliance requirements, and global operational excellence. 

• Support the Head of QMS to develop and execute roadmaps for system capability, process maturity, and digital transformation. 

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across the organisation. 

QMS Governance & Compliance 

• Manage Veeva Vault Quality governance activities including system effectiveness checks, user access reviews, metrics reviews and management reporting. 

• Ensure the QMS effectively supports deviations, changes, complaints, audits and supplier quality activities, etc. 

• Identify business risks associated with quality systems and develop mitigation strategies. 

Veeva Business System Ownership 

• Act as Business System Owner for Veeva Vault Quality  

• Oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance, enhancement and lifecycle management of the system. 

• Lead business requirements by gathering and translating requirements into functional specifications. 

• Manage system releases, enhancements, upgrades and validation activities in collaboration with IT and vendors. 

• Support governance through Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities. 

• Support sites during Regulatory Authorities inspections of Veeva Vault Quality related topics.  

Veeva Vault Quality Deployment and Optimisation 

• Lead deployment and continuous improvement of Veeva Vault Quality. 

• Support the system owner in development of global procedures supporting Veeva Vault Quality operations. 

• Ensure effective configuration and utilisation of Veeva Vault Quality to maximise business value. 

• Support data migration, system integration and business process redesign initiatives. 

• Support the QMS Manager (Governance) to drive standardisation and harmonisation of processes across Dechra. 

Leadership & People Management 

• Lead, mentor and develop QMS associates, specialists, and system support teams. 

• Build organisational capability through coaching, training and knowledge sharing. 

• Establish clear objectives, performance measures and development plans for direct reports. 

• Promote a customer-focused and collaborative approach to system and process support. 

Training & Adoption 

• Support development and maintenance of training materials and user guidance. 

• Ensure users are appropriately trained and competent in system use. 

• Champion best practices and promote effective use of Veeva Vault Quality.
 

 
The Candidate

• Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

• In depth knowledge of relevant regulatory authority guidelines, including UK/EU/US GMPs and GDPs and ICH 9 & 10. 

• Significant experience managing Quality Management Systems within the pharmaceutical or regulated life sciences industry. 

• Demonstrated experience in implementation, administration and optimisation of Veeva Vault solutions (or the equivalent). 

• Experience establishing KPIs, metrics and performance reporting frameworks. 

• Some leadership and people management experience.  

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional business transformation and digital system projects. 

• Experience managing stakeholders across Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and IT functions. 

• Ability to work effectively within global environments.

 
Additional Information: 
 

  • Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
  • This role is based in the UK / remote.
