The Opportunity 

The HR Business Partner provides strategic and operational People & Culture support to business leaders, partnering closely with leaders to align people strategies with business objectives. The role acts as a trusted advisor on organisation design, talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, performance management and change initiatives.

 

The HR Business Partner translates business priorities into people plans, ensuring Dechra has the capability, culture and organisational effectiveness required to deliver its strategic objectives. The role drives the consistent application of People & Culture policies, practices and programmes while balancing commercial needs with employee experience and compliance.


Role Responsibility 
 
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including: 
 

Strategic Business Partnering  

  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders and leadership teams,providing expert people advice that supports business performance and organisational effectiveness.
  • Partner with leaders to develop and execute people plans aligned to functional and business priorities.
  • Provide insight and challenge to leaders on workforce, capability,succession and organisational effectiveness decisions.
  • Use people data and analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities and recommend actions.

 

Organisation Design & Workforce Planning 

  • Support organisational design initiatives, ensuring alignment to business strategy and Dechra job architecture principles.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession planning and capability development.
  • Assess organisational effectiveness and recommend improvements that enhance performance and agility.

 

Talent & Performance Management 

  • Drive talent review and succession planning processes across supported functions.
  • Partner with leaders to identify critical talent, key roles and development priorities.
  • Support the implementation of talent management, leadership development and career progression initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on performance management practices and employee development.

 

Employee Relations & Risk Management  

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring consistency,fairness and appropriate risk management.
  • Partner with managers to resolve employee issues.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal policie sand company standards.
  • Identify people-related risks and support mitigation plans.

 

Change Management 

  • Lead the people aspects of organisational change initiatives, including business transformation projects, and support relevant processes and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Drive adoption of change initiatives through structured change management approaches.

 

Culture & Engagement 

  • Support leaders in creating an engaging,inclusive and high-performing culture aligned to Dechra values.
  • Analyse engagement feedback and develop action plans that address business-specific opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders to improve employee experience and organisational health.

 

People Processes & Continuous Improvement 

  • Ensure effective implementation of core people processes including performance management, talent reviews, compensation planning and workforce planning activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement across People & Culture processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Support the adoption of HR technology and data-driven decision making.


 
The Candidate

  • Professional HR qualifications e.g. CIPD level 5 Professional HR qualifications e.g. CIPD level 5  

  • Proven HR Business Partner experience within a complex, matrixed organisation.  

  • Proven experience supporting leaders and leadership teams.  

  • Experience leading organisational change and transformation initiatives.  

  • Strong knowledge of HR business partnering practices across global organisations.  

  • Broad understanding of talent management, organisational design, workforce planning and employee relations.  

  • Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.  

  • Understanding of HR systems, workforce analytics and people data.  

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.  

  • Ability to influence and challenge leaders constructively.  

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.  

  • Strong coaching, facilitation and consulting capabilities.  

  • Ability to analyse people data and translate insights into actions.  

  • Strong communication skills.  

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex international environment. 

 
Additional Information: 

  • Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
  • This role is based in Northwich / hybrid
