The Opportunity
Under the oversight of an experienced manager, drive the end‑to‑end group consolidation and internal reporting cycle, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual results. Steward the control environment for close and consolidation and provide insight that improves decision‑making across the business. Act as system/process owner for the group consolidation tool, HFM, and be a key partner to FP&A, and the wider Controllership organisation
Role Responsibility
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
Group Consolidation & Close
- Orchestrate the global month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close calendar; drive on‑time, right‑first‑time submissions from Business Units.
- Execute multi‑currency consolidation including eliminations (intercompany, investment, dividends), minority interest/NCI, equity method, and FX translation/remeasurement.
- Review and approve entity submissions and resolve data quality issues
- Maintain consolidation structures (chart of accounts, entities, legal hierarchies, metadata and security) and approve master‑data changes.
Internal Management Reporting
- Produce consolidated management P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and key schedules (bridge/variance, FX/one‑offs) at Group and Divisional level.
- Review entity reporting and synthesize insights and risk that could impact our adherence with IFRS.
Accounting Policy & Controls
- Ensure results align with Group accounting policies and local statutory considerations.
- Own key close controls and SOX/ICFR evidence (journal approvals, consolidation adjustments, intercompany, suspense/clearing, system access).
- Coordinate external audit requests relating to consolidation, cash flow methodology, and disclosure support.
Intercompany & Balance Sheet Integrity
- Monitor adherence with global intercompany policy; drive timely reconciliation and elimination of mismatches.
- Participate in the review of balance sheet flux reviews and account reconciliations; monitor KPIs for aging, suspense, and data quality.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Play a role in coaching and developing a geographically diverse controllership team.
- Build trusted relationships with Business Unit Controllers, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Technical Accounting, Shared Services, and External Audit.
Projects & Change
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (close acceleration, internal control enhancement, zero‑touch consolidations, data lineage).
The Candidate

- Proven progressive experience in group consolidation of and/or audit of multinational groups.
- Hands on expertise with enterprise consolidation tools (e.g., HFM) and large ERPs (e.g S4 Hana).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, multi currency, intercompany, NCI, equity method, and cash flow preparation.
- Proven people leadership and cross functional influencing skills.
- Professional qualification: ACA/ACCA/CPA (or equivalent).
Additional Information:
- Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
- This role is based in Northwich / hybrid
